Nikki Phillips has been an adjunct professor at the College of Southern Maryland (CSM) for 12 years. She teaches classes for the Communication and Humanities Department as well as the Languages and Literature Department. Ms. Phillips is also a Writing Tutor. Several years ago she began teaching professional training sessions related to writing and communication for CSM’s Corporate Training Center.

In 2002 she earned her undergraduate degree in Communication Arts and English from Salisbury University. While there, she was news director of the on-campus news station and worked at the local ABC affiliate, WMDT. She went onto earn her Masters degree from Jones International University in Business Communication with a focus on Leadership in 2006. Ms. Phillips is a nationally certified corporate trainer and recently earned her lean six sigma white belt.

Ms. Phillips is an enthusiastic and engaging trainer. She blends lecture and class discussion with hands on activities. This helps trainees connect to the material in practical ways, making the principles easy to apply in real-world professional situations.

Helping people connect and communicate better is her passion.
